Upgrading old LaCie D2 Quadra Enclusure with higher capacity drives

While i run my own experiments, these thrfeads are very helpful.
This one at Apple Discussions. And another one at SuperUser.com.
I tried installing a brand new 4tb disk inside the D2 and failed (The D2 was boight aound 2007-8). Next attempt will be with a 2TB drive.
