What is the meaning of OTT? What does an OTT Platform mean?
In very common words, OTT means Over The Top. This means, in the context of content delivery, any thing which is delivered without the traditional delivery mechanisms, like Satellite, Cable, etc.
Over The Top (OTT) means content delivered over the internet.
OTT Platform means any "Channel" which is delivered OTT, or Over The Internet.
So platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Zee5, HotStar, MFXPlayer, etc are all OTT Platforms. All their content is delivered over the Internet and NOT through satellite or cable etc.
Since OTT is delivered over the internet, typically their content can be viewed on various devices like internet connected televisions, laptops, smartphones, tablets, or any internet connected devices which support video.
