The shared art of creating, performing and being. Workshop in kolkata

Post by parambyte »

Sun Dec 2, 2012 11:43 pm (PST) . Posted by: "Arka Mukhopadhyay" arka.mukhopadhyay This is a lab in which we will examine our various creative approaches to

making art or 'performance' . We will look at the nature of performance both

from the individual as well as group process level.

This will be an exploration of what it is that motivates our

performance, the ways in which we source our inspirations as individuals

while working within a group context. How are we able to continually

develop and stay true to our own personal creative process, discover our

own personal style while at the same time able to collaborate at the group

or ensemble level.

We will experiment with group ritual and examine how various

environments and spaces (in the studio and outside) support a variety of

different ways of being and making. In the end our improvisations and

experiments will leave us with some new ways of being able to listen and

work together, to collaborate as individual creators, balancing the art of

self and other.

This is a lab is suited for all performance levels including

beginners. We will share our learning processes with one another and take

responsibility for our own desired outcomes. This is not a class, all are

encouraged to collaborate equally in its outcome. Your full input and

authentic presence is requested, working with discomfort, boredom and even

conflict. So let's play, lets create!
